Abstract:

The monograph provides in concentrated form basic information about the features and physical and mechanical characteristics of diamonds synthesized in the Ni–Mn–C and Fe–Si–C systems, their impurity composition, and also gives recommendations on the targeted selection of such diamonds in a grinding tool for processing instrumental and composite materials in mechanical engineering. The influence of volume defects on the physical and mechanical characteristics of synthetic diamonds obtained in various systems is presented. Information on the change in the physico-mechanical and physicochemical characteristics of synthetic diamonds after separation in magnetic and electric fields and its effect on the wear resistance of the grinding tool are presented. The study of the conditions of directed thermal action on the change in the physical and mechanical properties of diamond grains and their wear resistance in grinding wheels is shown. Recommendations on the effective use of natural defectiveness of synthetic diamonds in grinding tools are given.
Intended for scientific and engineering workers in the field of creation, production and use of diamonds for processing tool and composite materials in mechanical engineering, as well as for teachers, postgraduates and students of higher educational institutions.
